The term Minimalism emerged in the 20th century, notably gaining prominence from the 1960s onwards, to signify a style marked by a sense of impersonal simplicity, basic geometric shapes, and the use of industrial materials. Interpretations and descriptions of Minimalism varied widely, as did the scope of artworks associated with it. Throughout the 1960s, the Minimalists' creations maintained a remarkable level of consistency, persisting with their focus on geometric and serial forms.
